The Irish American Heritage Museum is the only Museum in America dedicated to the study and celebration of the Irish American heritage. Founded in 1986, the museum is a not-for-profit (501.c3) educational organization chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York.

The Museum develops and presents exhibitions and sponsors activities to educate Irish Americans about their unique heritage and to illustrate to other Americans the impact the Irish have had in our society. Theses public programs take place in East Durham, New York, during our summer exhibition season and throughout the year at various locations in the Albany region. We have exhibited in New York City; Saint Paul, Minnesota; Atlanta, Georgia; New Orlean, Louisiana; the American Embassy, Dublin, Ireland; Fishers, Indiana; Charlotte, North Carolina; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Chicago, Illinois; Orange County, New York; and County Kerry, Ireland.

In addition, the museum’s research library and archives provide scholars, genealogists, and the public an invitation to delve into Irish Heritage.

Office space is located at 991 Broadway, Suite 101 Albany, New York 12204, it serves as the base for the Museum’s administrative staff.
